Can an agency legally license premium plugins for my website?

Yes, when the agency holds a developer or unlimited-site licence that explicitly permits installation on client sites. That is how Themeco Pro, Envira Gallery and Soliloquy agency licences are designed to be used. The licence remains the agency’s, and it covers the site while the agency builds, hosts or maintains it. Ask any agency to state plainly which licence tier they hold.

What happens to the plugins if I leave my agency?

The agency licence stays with the agency, so you would purchase your own single-site licence for any premium plugin you want to keep receiving updates for. The plugin keeps running in the meantime — it simply stops receiving updates and support, which is a security risk over time. Your site, pages, content and images remain yours either way.

Is it safe to keep running a premium plugin after the licence expires?

It keeps working, but it stops receiving security patches, and unpatched plugins are one of the most common ways WordPress sites get compromised. Treat an expired premium plugin as a deadline, not an option: either renew it, replace it with a maintained alternative, or remove the feature. Do not leave it sitting there for a year.

Do I actually need a slider on my homepage?

Usually not. A single strong image with one clear headline and one call to action tends to convert better than a rotating slider, because visitors act on the first thing they see rather than waiting for a carousel. Sliders also add weight to the most load-sensitive part of the page. Use one when you genuinely have several distinct offers to show equally.

How much should a small business expect to spend on website plugins per year?

For a typical local business site, budget in the range of $50 to $150 a year for premium plugin functionality, plus hosting. The larger cost is maintenance — someone applying updates and checking the site afterwards.
